This past Sunday we had our annual meeting of parishioners (AMP), what many workplaces call their AGM. In the Church it is slightly different, and of course starts with food. This year we had a wonderful turnout for lunch and people brought many great things to share. A personal thank you to whoever brought the soft chewy chocolate chip cookies, and the skor desert bars.
The AMP was an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s ministry and expenses and to look forward. It was a good chance to see what has happened and to see what is being hoped for this next year.
One thing that was clear: A Church and its ministry does not happen by itself. To make this all happen took a lot of work. A huge resounding thank you to our outgoing leadership team. To Kendra and to Samantha, our outgoing Church leaders, this church owes you a debt of gratitude and please know that this Church continues on in its ministry in great part due to the sacrifices you’ve made. To our outgoing Church parish council, and our youth representative, your advice and wisdom have been a source of joy and inspiration. Thank you for the way you have brought to life ministry and gave it substance. Thank you Pat, Ighalo, Scott and Bethany.
To our incoming team, we are so thrilled have you taking the helm of the Church and helping lead us. You have big shoes to fill, but you have been called for such a time as this.
