PRAYER WALK – September 21-28

Prayer ministries would like to challenge all church members to join us in praying for our neighbors. We are challenging you to take a walk through your neighborhood and pray for the people in the homes you pass by on your walk. If you cannot walk outside but live in a condo building, maybe you can walk the halls and pray for your neighbors. For those of you who are unable to walk outside your home, perhaps you could sit in the window and pray for the homes you can see from the front or back window of your house. We would love to lift to Jesus all the hurting, lost confused people, living in our communities, we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors of our neighbors, but Jesus does. Maybe some have never been prayed for before. We may never know how God works in the lives of those we are praying for. That’s ok, too.

Please write on a piece of paper the name of the streets you have walked, the condo building, or the street name where you prayed for your neighbors from your house. On Sunday, September 29th, please bring the papers to church and place them in the offering basket. We would like to offer them up to God during the offering.

If you have any questions, please speak to Pam Matsumiya or Liz Tuff

SEEKING CHILDCARE RECOMMENDATIONS

Hi Holy Trinity,

This is Carolyn Matthews, Revd. David’s wife. We are so excited to be joining you in December! I have started looking for childcare for our two young children in NW Calgary. I hope to be returning to work in March 2025, when our youngest turns 1 year of age.

It can be overwhelming to find care in a new city (especially since waitlists are so long!) If you have any recommendations or childcare options that you have loved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me by email at carolyblenkhorn@gmail.com

Blessings to you, looking forward to seeing you soon.
Carolyn

WHAT IS PRAYER?

Prayer is how we communicate with God. Many believe that it is through prayer that God’s grace and guidance are given. Prayer is thought of as a two-way communication that gives comfort, as God is listening and may send messages back.

Nicky Gumble quote*: prayer is the most important activity of our lives, and it works! It’s the very purpose for which we were made, to have a love relationship with God. All love relationships thrive on communication, the more we communicate the more we love, the more we love the more our relationship flourishes, it is the same with our relationship with God.

Ephesians 2:18
When we don’t know how to pray the Spirit of God helps us (we are not alone).
